What to expect
a bit about detox
All participants arriving at an iRecover Center will start their journey with a Detox. Our detox is run by our Nurses and Nurse practitioner. The length of stay can vary from participant to participant and typically ranges between 24 hours and one week. Particpants will have their bags inspected for safety purposes upon arrival.
Phones calls & Internet access
During detox and the first week in treatment, participants are not allowed to make any phone calls. Having personal phones or internet capable devices is prohibited. iRecover will provide every participant with their very own iRecover tablet computer. After detox and week one, participants will get some internet access via their tablet in the evenings and will also be able to call family in the evenings using a normal phone or video calling via their tablet.
After detox and week one, participants can enjoy family visiting days at our centers. Family members are welcome to come and visit their loved ones on Sunday afternoons from noon to 5pm. Visitation takes place in common areas and family will not be allowed in participant's rooms. Family members are usually also invited to attend an open meeting held from 5pm-6pm to see what it is all about.
Even though the program is a very busy one, there will be some time to have fun also. Activities may vary slightly from location to location but generally participants can enjoy Saturday outings after detox and week one. The group decides on an activity and along with a member of staff, they will have fun as a group. This could be anything from bowling to the Kangaroo petting zoo to kayaking etc.
